MedBuddy began during one of the most difficult chapters of our founder’s life. As his father underwent cancer treatment across the GCC, his family experienced firsthand how fragmented healthcare could be.
Instead of focusing solely on recovery, they found themselves navigating disconnected systems, repeating paperwork, and carrying medical information from one provider to another. That experience revealed how much harder healthcare becomes when the systems surrounding the patient fail to connect.
MedBuddy was created from that experience with one vision: to build a future where healthcare is connected instead of fragmented, patients no longer have to carry their medical history between providers, and healthcare professionals have the information they need when they need it.
What began as a personal experience with fragmented healthcare quickly became a much bigger question: what if healthcare could be connected instead of divided across providers, systems, and processes?
That question became MedBuddy’s vision. A future where patients no longer have to carry their medical history from one provider to another, and healthcare professionals have the information they need when they need it.
As the vision developed, so did the mission.
MedBuddy set out to build one connected healthcare ecosystem that brings together patients, healthcare providers, educational institutions, sports organisations, and healthcare facilities through technology designed in the MENA region.
What started as one founder’s vision soon became a shared mission, bringing together expertise in medicine, computer engineering, and law from across Bahrain, Morocco, and Iraq.
Today, that mission continues: building healthcare technology that reflects the needs, realities, and ambitions of the MENA region—because better healthcare starts with better connections.
MedBuddy has been shaped through real healthcare environments—from family-owned clinics to public healthcare institutions. These experiences help us understand the realities of clinical workflows, administration, patient care, and everyday healthcare operations.
As MedBuddy has grown, its vision has begun attracting interest beyond the MENA region, including from healthcare organisations in Australia and South Africa.
What began as a solution inspired by our region is becoming part of a much wider healthcare conversation.
Dr. Tameem brings the medical perspective directly into MedBuddy's development. As a physician, healthcare strategist, and innovation leader, he helps us understand how the technology we design translates into real clinical environments.
His role is especially important when we develop new workflows and features. It is not enough for something to work technically - it also needs to make sense to the doctors and healthcare professionals who will actually use it. Dr. Tameem provides that medical insight, helping us evaluate our ideas from the perspective of clinical usefulness, practicality, patient care, and real healthcare workflows.
As MedBuddy's Chief Medical Spokesperson and a leading medical voice within the team, he helps bridge the gap between medicine and technology, ensuring that healthcare remains at the centre of what we build.

MedBuddy operates from two headquarters — Bahrain and Morocco — giving us a presence across both the Gulf and North Africa.
This regional foundation allows us to build with a deeper understanding of different healthcare environments across MENA, including local patient behaviour, languages, healthcare workflows, institutional needs, and market realities.
Our goal is not to build for one part of the region and expand outward. Both the GCC and North Africa are part of MedBuddy’s foundation, with our platform designed to grow across the wider MENA healthcare ecosystem.
Our Bahrain headquarters connects MedBuddy closely to the Gulf healthcare ecosystem and supports our presence and growth across GCC markets.
Our Morocco headquarters gives MedBuddy a strong foundation in North Africa and helps ensure that our platform reflects the healthcare environments and needs of the region.
With headquarters on both sides of the MENA region, MedBuddy is positioned to expand into additional markets while maintaining a healthcare platform that can adapt to different local requirements.
We operate from two regional hubs across the MENA region - one in the GCC and one in North Africa - giving us deep roots and a true understanding of diverse healthcare environments, languages, behaviours, workflows, and institutional needs across the region.
We have received strong interest and requests from markets outside MENA, including Europe, North America, and other parts of the world. This growing global interest reflects the relevance of our mission and the value our platform delivers.
MedBuddy has established its North American headquarters in Delaware, United States. This strategic presence strengthens our global foundation and positions us closer to key healthcare, technology, and investment ecosystems to accelerate international growth and partnerships.
